With a chance to earn its first preseason No. 1 ranking in over a quarter century, Penn State football will surely be one of the most watched teams in the country this fall. Now, we’re getting our first look at the two biggest matchups on the Nittany Lions’ 2025 schedule.

This week, FanDuel Sportsbook released another batch of early lines and point totals for this fall. Among the handful of Nittany Lion games included were the spreads for potential top-five matchups with Oregon and Ohio State.

Penn State finds itself as the favorite for its September 27 matchup with the Ducks, which has already been announced as a 7:30 p.m. kickoff and the program’s annual White Out game. FanDuel has the Nittany Lions as a 4.5-point favorite with an over/under of 52.5. The line opened with Penn State as a 3.5-point favorite. Last year’s Big Ten Championship was a high-scoring affair, with Oregon winning 45-37.

However, the Nittany Lions are on the opposite end of their November 1 road trip to Columbus, with the Buckeyes currently a 3.5-point favorite. The total for the matchup is 50.5. Ohio State beat Penn State for the eighth consecutive year in 2024, emerging from Beaver Stadium with a 20-13 victory.

Penn State is also favored by double-digits for its October 18 trip to Iowa (10.5 points) and the November 8 home matchup against Indiana (16.5 points). The totals for those contests are 46.5 and 53.5, respectively. FanDuel has the Nittany Lions as 45.5-point favorites for the season opener with Nevada. The Blue and White opened as 43.5-point favorites against the Wolfpack on DraftKings last month.
