Part of recruiting is that constant battle of bringing in new players versus keeping your current commitments. The Penn State football team has eight commits in the 2025 recruiting class. But as players continue to produce more tape and get more exposure other schools naturally draw more interest. That’s where current Penn State commit Omari Gaines has found himself as he has picked up new offers from Stanford and Central Michigan.

Omari Gaines is currently committed to the 2025 recruiting class for the Penn State football team. Gaines made his commitment on March 28th, 2023. He is a three-star safety from Newark, NJ but recently he has picked up significant interest from two new schools. He posted on social media that he has received scholarship offers from both Stanford and Central Michigan respectively. While part of this is showing how many schools offered him, human nature is to think is he still 100% committed to Penn State? As of right now, there is nothing that makes Nittany Lion fans think that he is going to waver in his commitment.

Penn State’s newest 2025 recruit

The Penn State football team picked up a new commitment on Sunday following junior day. Owen Aliciene committed to Penn State who is a three-star offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247sports. He is from Avon, CT, and stands at 6’7 275 pounds. Now, the Nittany Lions are picking up steam in the next cycle.
