The countdown to kickoff is on in Happy Valley, now less than 48 hours away from Saturday’s matchup between No. 4 Ohio State and No. 3 Penn State football. The first top-five showdown in Beaver Stadium since 1999, this weekend’s game is drawing attention from across the national media landscape. Most notably, ESPN’s flagship college football show, College GameDay, will be making its return to central Pennsylvania to cover the pregame festivities between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions.

We now know which famous Penn State alumni will join the College GameDay crew as the show’s guest picker on Saturday morning. The show’s social media account announced Thursday afternoon that Keegan-Michael Key will return to the GameDay set.

Key was a guest picker for Nittany Lions matchups in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

“West Virginia, to open the season was a big game. Bowling Green was a big game. If you don’t think it was, lose to Bowling Green and see how people react. They’re all big games,” James Franklin said regarding the magnitude of this week’s matchup on Wednesday night. “This is a big game because of how we’ve handled the previous six.

“So we don’t change our process. I can’t control the noise and the things that are outside this building. But we stay consistent with how we go about our business, and I can’t control the other things.”

Penn State football is currently a -3.5 point underdog in Saturday’s matchup. Kickoff is set for noon on FOX.
