Another week of college football is in the books. The Penn State football team has made it through five weeks and remains undefeated. After taking care of business on the road in Evanston, Illinois yesterday the Nittany Lion football team enters the bye week. But before they get to rest and recover, where did the team land in the latest edition of the AP poll?

Penn State receives its week 6 AP Poll ranking

While the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs had a scare in Jordan-Hare yesterday, they found a way to win. No. 2 Michigan once again looked very impressive, dominating the competition in Nebraska. No. 3 Texas took care of Kansas and No. 4 Ohio State had the week off as they sat idle yesterday. While No. 5 FSU also had their bye week in week 5. As we know, Penn State who entered the week as the No. 6 team in the country won 41-13 against Northwestern.

Now, the Nittany Lions learn its week 6 AP Poll ranking. This week the Penn State football team earned the No. 6 ranking once again. This was expected as there was no major chaos ahead or behind the Nittany Lions.

Bye week at the perfect time

Penn State enters the bye week at the perfect point of the season. The team needs to recover from three straight Big Ten games, all of which were very physical. The team is hopeful that JB Nelson and Kaytron Allen can get healthy enough to play. Even if they needed to miss the UMass game, that would be fine. As long as they return for the Ohio State game which comes later this month. James Franklin needs to use the bye week to recover but also not lose momentum during this time either.
