Penn State football fans were awarded a surprise commitment announcement on Saturday. As wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers of the 2026 recruiting class made his commitment official to the Nittany Lions. He now joins Messiah Mickens and Troy Huhn as the third commitment in the 2026 class for Penn State.
Jahsiear Rogers is a 5-10 170-pound wide receiver from Bear (Delaware). According to On3, he has yet to be ranked, however, we have seen this with cases such as 2025 Penn State commit and tight end Matt Henderson, who was unranked when he committed but once he was evaluated earned a four-star ranking.
Rogers held offers from James Madison, Indiana, and Penn State. He has taken two unofficial visits in his recruitment, both to Penn State. The first came on June 14, and the second was this weekend as he was in attendance at the annual Lasch Bash.
Rogers made his commitment official on Twitter / X. He tweeted, “The best in the Northeast belong at the best in the Northeast.”

The 2026 recruiting class for the Penn State football team now sits at 3 verbal commitments. The highest-ranked prospect for the Nittany Lions continues to be running back Messiah Mickens from Harrisburg (Pennsylvania).
Mickens returned to campus this weekend and was joined by high school teammate and No. 1 player in PA in the 2026 cycle Kevin Brown.
Brown was a confirmed visitor for this weekend’s Lasch Bash by Steve Wiltfong of On3 earlier in the week. Brown will return to campus for his ninth visit to Happy Valley during his recruitment. The Penn State football team has struggled to keep the best prospects in Pennsylvania in the state with the 2025 recruiting class, which makes the efforts with Brown even more important.
On3 considers Brown as the No. 1 player in PA, and the No. 3 IOL in the country (No. 28 nationally). On Thursday evening Messiah Mickens who is the longest-tenured commit in the 2026 recruiting class for the Nittany Lions, offered his recruiting pitch to Brown on Twitter / X.
Mickens tweeted, “Come home brother.” But these two are much closer than just social media followers. Both Brown and Mickens attend Harrisburg High School and will compete on the field as teammates this fall.
