For the second time in four days, Penn State football has earned a commitment from a blue chip linebacker prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle. On Monday afternoon, Patriot (VA) linebacker Mathieu Lamah (formerly Kanu) became the latest player to make his pledge to James Franklin and the Nittany Lions.

Lamah announced his decision via Instagram.

The Nittany Lions beat out Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers for Lamah’s commitment. Prior to his announcement, Lamah had official visits scheduled to Penn State and Virginia Tech for June.

According to On3, Lamah is the No. 19 linebacker and No. 6 recruit from Virginia in 2026.

On Friday, Penn State football landed top in-state linebacker Terry Wiggins. The first linebacker to commit to the Nittany Lions in 2026, the Coatesville product is the No. 15 prospect at the position per On3.
