This is the time of year when the Penn State football coaching staff dials in their recruiting efforts. That was on full display this week as the Nittany Lions have made the final four schools for 2025 recruiting class member Matt Zollers. On top of that, Penn State has landed two commitments within the week with Alex Tatsch making his pledge on Sunday. Now, WPIAL star Dayshaun Burnett has made his commitment to the Nittany Lions. James Franklin continues to keep the top talent in PA home by playing college football at Penn State.

Dayshaun Burnett is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247sports. A native of Pittsburgh, PA Burnett plays his high school football at Imani Christian Academy. He is currently ranked the No. 13 player in Pennsylvania and a top 40 linebacker in the country.
He chose Penn State over Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Rutgers. Earlier in the week three 247sports analysts added their crystal ball predictions for Burnett to commit to the Penn State football team, and now that prediction has become a reality. Burnett joins Alex Tatsch to become the second WPIAL player to commit to Penn State this week.
Penn State makes the final four for No. 1 QB in PA
Matt Zollers has been a popular name that continues to show up on Penn State’s campus. He is currently ranked as the No. 1 QB in the 2025 recruiting class and has grown a significant name for himself. His recruiting cycle is coming to a close in the near future and he has decided that he is down to four schools.
They include Missouri, Georgia, Pittsburgh, and Penn State. If the Nittany Lions can secure Zollers they will truly be keeping the best in PA in PA.
