With week one of the 2024 college football season in the books, we have learned a lot about the teams that were ranked in the top 25 of the preseason AP Poll. Some of those teams belonged and were underrated, whereas others did not deserve to be ranked ahead of the season. The Penn State football team was properly rated and climbed the AP poll after the Nittany Lions win at West Virginia.
Entering week one, the Penn State football team was preseason ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll, No. 8 overall. On Tuesday, the second edition of the poll was released and the Nittany Lions have maintained that position. Georgia and Ohio State still lead the way as the two best teams in the country. Meanwhile, teams such as Florida State and Clemson dove the rankings after disappointing starts to their campaigns.
How did the Nittany Lions look this past weekend?

Did Penn State look like a top-10 team in the country against West Virginia? They certainly did to me. Even during a long lightning delay, the Nittany Lion faithful saw a strong display on the field. Once the offense found its rhythm and Drew Allar found his confidence the rest of the game took care of itself.
Allar finished the game completing 11 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns were thrown to Harrison Wallace who seemingly emerged as the No. 1 option in this offense.
