The Penn State football team continues to push ahead on the recruiting trail. After a strong June, the Nittany Lions are yet to land a commitment in July. However, that could soon change after a new prediction has been placed for a 2025 recruiting class blue-chip wide receiver. Taz Williams one of the top remaining targets on the board for Penn State has earned a crystal ball that has him projected to play his college football in Happy Valley.
There has been a series of misses at wide receiver for the Penn State football team. After adding Jeff Exinior, many thought the Nittany Lions would have momentum with other pass catchers. But since Exinor’s commitment Penn State has missed on Corey Simms (USC), Matthew Outten (Virginia Tech), and Samari Reed (Ole Miss).
However, the trend appears to be changing in favor of Penn State. On Saturday, Tyler Calvaruso of Lions247 placed a crystal ball with a confidence level of six for the Nittany Lions to land 2025 recruiting class WR Taz Williams.
With his commitment date looming on July 13, Williams has a big decision ahead of him. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA Williams has played high school football in Red Oak (Texas). According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Williams is a four-star prospect who ranks as the No. 51 wide receiver and player in the state (No. 346 nationally).
The Director of Scouting for On3 Chad Simmons still has an RPM for Williams to land at Michigan. His prediction was placed on April 2. Since then, Williams has taken official visits to Ohio State, SMU, Texas A&M, Penn State, and Michigan.

While Penn State continues to inch ahead in the battle for Taz Williams. The Nittany Lions do not have to battle this alone. Both Williams and Brisker are from Pittsburgh and the rising NFL superstar has made his pitch to Williams on Twitter/X.
On July 2 Brisker tweeted, “Go take over PSU!” Brisker wrote in a quote tweet of Williams’s post regarding his and high school teammate Kamauryn Morgan’s upcoming commitments. “That 1 will look great on you. Go be great #SuperMan1.”
Then, on July 5 Brisker once again reminded Williams why he should choose Penn State. He mentioned Williams in a comment.
“Imagine! Playing in front of these fans, big time players big time games. PA stay in PA.”
