Beau Pribula is already on the move less than 48 hours after announcing his decision to leave the Penn State football program. On Tuesday, the now-former Nittany Lions backup quarterback made his first visit out of the transfer portal, traveling to Columbia to meet with Eliah Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers.
Matt Zenitz of 247Sports was the first to share intel regarding Tuesday’s visit. Of note, Pribula has existing ties to incoming Missouri quarterback signee Matt Zollers of Spring-Ford. A potential pairing of the two Pennsylvania passers in the SEC could be enticing, providing Pribula an opportunity to mentor the four-star talent, who is recovering from a significant lower-body injury.
Earlier Tuesday, reports surfaced indicating that Missouri was one of the early schools to watch for the former Nittany Lion, along with Iowa and UCF. Zenitz has added another SEC program to that list, reporting that Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have expressed interest in the redshirt sophomore.
Beau Pribula entered the transfer portal on Sunday night after three seasons with Penn State football. The Central York product completed 66% of his passes for 424 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 571 yards and 10 rushing scores during his Nittany Lion career.

“The current NCAA post-season model creates a challenge for student-athletes,” Pribula wrote on social media. “The overlapping college football playoff and transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision. After speaking at length with my family and coaches, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my intentions to enter the transfer portal and depart from the team to explore opportunities elsewhere.
“I want to thank the coaches, my teammates, the fanbase, and everyone else who has supported me along this journey. For the rest of my life, I stand proud as a Penn State graduate and letterman.”
“So I’m concerned for college football right now, in general, to be honest with you. And I think a lot of people are,” James Franklin said of the situation Monday. “I really wanted this answer to be about Beau Pribula, who is a wonderful young man, and I would recruit him every year. Knowing everything I know right now, I’d go back and recruit the heck out of Beau.
“Beau grew up wanting to come to Penn State his whole life. This is his dream school. And had a phenomenal career here. And I just want everybody to understand that, most importantly…So I hate it. I do. I hate it for him, and I hate it for Penn State, but I also don’t think it’s the right thing for college football.”
