Since arriving in Happy Valley, Penn State football offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich has routinely identified high-level talent at the QB position before those prospects have risen up the recruiting rankings. Of course, Nittany Lions fans remember Drew Allar’s ascension from three-star to five-star status in the class of 2022. Last year, Jaxon Smolik was widely viewed as an undervalued prospect after an injury in his junior season impacted his evaluation. Currently, fans are enjoying the rapid rise of 2024 commit Ethan Grunkemeyer. In short, when Penn State offers a young QB, it’s worth taking notice. The Penn State faithful may eventually have a new name to watch, as yesterday the Nittany Lions offered 2026 QB Noah Grubbs after a head-turning camp performance.
Noah Grubbs earns offer from Penn State football after standout camp performance
Noah Grubbs is a 6-4, 205-pound 2026 QB out of Lake Mary High School in central Florida. According to Andrew Ivins of 247Sports, Grubbs threw for 1,598 yards with 17 touchdowns and 6 interceptions as a freshman in 2022. Although the young prospect has no official evaluations from the major recruiting services to date, he touts an impressive offer list, including UCF, Texas A&M, Miami, and Notre Dame.
Earlier this week, Noah Grubbs announced via social media that he would attend Penn State’s Elite Showcase camp on Friday. Although there were several QB prospects in attendance, Grubbs was one of the standouts of the event. In videos circulating online, the 2026 QB displayed impressive arm strength and accuracy.
Evidently, it wasn’t just the recruiting evaluators in attendance who were impressed with Grubbs’s arm talent. On Saturday evening, Noah Grubbs announced that he had officially earned an offer from Penn State, now the tenth of his recruitment.
Penn State is now one of the top programs to offer Noah Grubbs to date, but it’s still very early in the 2026 recruiting cycle. In addition to contending with seven other Power Five programs, the Nittany Lions may soon be battling Big Ten foes for Grubbs’s commitment. Most recently, the 2026 QB announced that he will visit Michigan today (July 30). So, while James Franklin and Mike Yurcich are laying the groundwork by getting in on this recruitment early, there will be much work to do if they hope to land Grubbs come signing day two years from now.
