The Penn State football team has transformed how wide receiver prospects view the program. That’s largely due to the new offensive system that Andy Kotelnicki has brought from Kansas. It has made playmakers around the country see the value in playing wide receiver for the Nittany Lions. 2026 recruiting class blue chip prospect Madden Williams has set his eyes on an official visit with Penn State.
Following the Illinois game that featured ‘White Out energy’ from the Nittany Lion faithful, 2026 recruiting class prospect Madden Williams is ready to commit to returning for an official visit. Williams shared with Ryan Snyder of Blue White Illustrated on Monday.
“I would say they are very high on my list right now,” Williams told Snyder. “I really like the overall environment and the energy they have, and I for sure will take an official visit.”
Williams is a four-star prospect from Bellflower (California) He attends St. John Bosco one of the top high schools in the country. According to On3 Industry Rankings, Williams is the No. 28 player in California and the No. 19 athlete (No. 271 nationally).

When Madden Williams stepped foot on campus for the Illinois game, that was his third visit to Happy Valley during his recruitment. All three visits came this year. One on March 29, another on May 31, and finally this past weekend.
He clearly sees Penn State football as a realistic choice. If he has verbally committed to an official visit, that likely means the Nittany Lions will be on his final list of schools as well. While there is a long path to having Williams potentially commit to Penn State, the coaching staff has made the right impressions to be in the mix early on.
