The Penn State football team now knows the kickoff schedule for the next two weeks. After news that dropped this afternoon the Nittany Lions have learned the kickoff time for their game against the Northwestern Wildcats will be at. But before the team shifts its focus towards Northwestern, they need to play against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday night in the annual whiteout game.

Kickoff time announced for upcoming Penn State Big Ten game

Penn State has found out the kickoff time for the Northwestern game and fans may not be happy with the news.  The road trip to Northwestern on September 30th will be broadcast at Noon ET on the Big Ten Network. This will be the third Noon kick of the season and the second straight to open the conference road slate. It will be the first game of the season that the Nittany Lions will be featured on the Big Ten Network (BTN).

The history of Penn State vs. Northwestern

Penn State leads the all-time series 15-5 against Northwestern and has won the previous two meetings. James Franklin is 2-2 against the Wildcats since arriving in State College in 2014. The last trip to Evanston featured Trace McSorley and Saquon Barkley who led the then #8 Nittany Lions to a 31-7 victory. That day saw McSorley threw for 245 yards and a touchdown and Barkley ran for 75 yards and two touchdowns in what was a relatively stress-free day for the Nittany Lions. Penn State will enter this matchup in a similar situation and will be a heavy favorite against a struggling Northwestern team that fired head coach Pat Fitzgerald before the season.

The Penn State football team  is coming off a gritty 30-13 win over Illinois in Champaign on Saturday. The defense shined forcing 5 takeaways which helped to make up for a slow offensive performance. The Nittany Lions return home this week for a primetime matchup against #24 Iowa in the annual Whiteout game on Saturday night on CBS.
