Official visits are always critical to the decision-making process for any high school prospect. For the Penn State football team, it allows the Nittany Lions to create separation in specific recruiting battles. Following his recent official visit to Happy Valley 2025 recruiting class defensive back Antonio Branch has made a strong statement on where Penn State stands in his recruitment.

Antonio Branch is a four-star DB in the 2025 recruiting class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Branch is a top-40 cornerback in the cycle. A native of Miami, FL the uncommitted prospect has a major slate of official visits to get through in June. That kicked off this past weekend during his trip to Happy Valley.

Following his official visit, he informed Rivals that the Nittany Lions are in a prime position to secure his commitment.

Penn State was always in a good spot, but as far as recruiting goes, I’ll say they are the team to beat.” Will Terry Smith be able to pull another Florida prospect out of the Sunshine State to continue to grow the defensive back room?

What other official visits will Branch take?

The impression that the Penn State hospitality made on this rising defender was powerful. But the question becomes was it enough to land his commitment? We will likely find out over the next several weeks. Following his visit with the Nittany Lions, he has two additional scheduled.

Branch will return to his home state visiting the Florida Gators on June 14. Then, he will take a trip north to visit Lousiville on June 21. Terry Smith has proven year after year that he’s more than capable of recruiting top talent from all over the country. Now, he has positioned himself to grow his defensive back room in State College if they can secure a pledge from Antonio Branch.
