Penn State basketball experienced a mass exodus of its freshmen class following the end of the 2024-25 campaign. This weekend, we learned that the Nittany Lions’ star recruit in the 2024 cycle will continue his collegiate career in the Big Ten.

On Friday night, 247Sports national basketball analyst Travis Branham reported that former four-star forward Miles Goodman had committed to Oregon. The move is a return to the West Coast for Goodman, who is from Seattle, Washington, and attended high school at the Southern California Academy.

Goodman entered the transfer portal on March 24. The No. 95 overall prospect in 2024, he was the second-highest-ranked recruit in Penn State basketball history. He played sparingly as a freshman after battling an injury to start the season, averaging 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds over 13 games.

Penn State lost three of its five-man 2024 recruiting class to the transfer portal last month. Goodman is the second ex-Nittany Lion to find a new home, following guard Jahvin Carter, who committed to Middle Tennessee last week.

“There are conversations you have with your coach that even if you agree or don’t agree on, you have a conversation,” Mike Rhoades said. “Kids got to do what they feel is best for them and their future and their opportunity, because they only get to do this one time, and there’s only one window that they can do this.”
