After one of the wildest weekends of college football the next edition of the AP Poll has been released. On a weekend when the Penn State football team had a sleepy win over UCLA, the team has to be grateful considering all of the other teams that fell on Saturday, including the Nittany Lions’ next opponent in USC.
On a weekend that was jokingly apple-picking weekend because of what seemed like a poor slate of college football games turned into one of the most exciting weekends of the 2024 season. Alabama, Tennessee, and Missouri were all top ten teams that fell on Saturday, which led to the Penn State football team being able to move up in the AP Poll.

Penn State handled UCLA

While it wasn’t flashy, the Nittany Lions handled the UCLA Bruins 27-11 on Saturday afternoon. The lack of flash was largely due to Nick Singleton being sidelined for the game. But Penn State found a way to get the job done against a Bruins quarterback Justyn Martin who made his first career start against the Nittany Lions.
Drew Allar threw for 237 yards and accounted for one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. Up next Penn State hits the road to face USC at 3:30 on CBS next Saturday.
