Today the Penn State football team will hit the field for media availability. Basic Blues Nation will have staff writers at the event to ask important questions and provide insight from quotes and takeaways from the event. It will be a great opportunity to hear from Penn State players that have transferred to State College or who didn’t play a large role last season but will in 2023. Regardless, it will be refreshing to hear everyone’s perspective before the season gets underway.

3 Questions we want answered from today’s Penn State football media day

The first question we want to be answered surrounds the wide receiver room, at the Big Ten Media days at the end of July head coach James Franklin said that the number three wide receiver role was up for grabs, but someone needs to step up. It would be great to hear from coach Franklin if anyone has stepped up yet, Then it would also be nice to know which players are going to be part of the wide receiver rotation this season.

The second question we wanted to be answered is who will be in charge of the Penn State football major special team roles this season. Will it be Sander Sahaydak or Alex Felkins taking over the place-kicking duties? The same question goes for the punter role, has anyone emerged yet and started taking the majority of reps? It will be great hearing special teams coordinator Stacy Collins give the Penn State media an insight into those battles.

Last but not least we are looking to hear how the secondary is shaping up. It’s clear that Keaton Ellis will be a starter this fall but who will line up next to him? Also, at the nickel cornerback, is it Daequan Hardy’s job to lose or is there anyone like Cam Miller stepping up to take over that role for Penn State this fall?

At the end of the day, we will get answers to all of these questions and more, but these feel like the three question marks headed into 2023 that need to be addressed.
